I was camping close by and decided to give Lake Stevens a try since the salt was probably packed with people for the derby. Got to the launch and there were signs saying it was closed today. So had to drive to the other side of the lake to launch. This was my first time on the lake and for kokanee so I did a little research before going and found a few post that gave some good advice. I started just directly across the lake from the lauch and strated trolling north. All the bites came from the area between purple pennant to the small point on north lakeshore drive. Ended up with two decent kokanee but had several other bites that came loose. I was in 70 ft of water and 30 ft down using a wedding ring tipped with corn. I will have to try it again some time.

How was the coloring on the Kokes? Are they pretty-well turned?

They were both still bright.
