Got to the boat ramp around 6:15 am. No one on the water at all. Inflated the boat and set it up with the new trolling motor. Four of us hopped in and headed to the "area". We had been there before and knew exactly where to go. Set anchor and started fishing with a basic hook and split shots with some worms. Immediately got a bite, then a second one, then a third. Boom. We were there for maybe 5 min and we already had 3 jumbo perch in the cooler. It slowed for about 15 min and then it was pretty much one after the other with dozens of doubles and even some triples at the same time. I lost track after about 45. Ended up keeping 22 perch and 5 rainbows ( and that's just cause our cooler wouldn't fit anymore!). Never once got hung up. Good friends, good times, good fish! Pretty awesome time! This is now twice that we have been there and caught tons of perch.
