Headed out on Mark's boat late morning at the end of September. Me having lost my job recently and not having luck finding a new one was in need of some fun. We had no action until around noon when things really began to heat up! The weather was beautiful and slightly overcast due to the poor air conditions in the area, but it blocked out the bright sun and provided just perfect conditions! No breeze and the water was glass! We both used about a 2ft lead with size 6 hook, a secret weapon (lets just say it is pink, small and round), and a few splitshot- and waited silently for the attack. Mark must have landed a few before I got my action going, but boy were we suprised! Before you know it, we had our limit and both caught the largest fish of our season ever on Sprague! First Mark landed a beautiful female 20 inch Rainbow- awesome fish! Looked like a steelhead! But then I landed my whopper- at 22in 41/2 lb male rainbow! Just beautiful! As you can see from the pictures, I am very proud! He must have jumped several times, ran out my reel about 15 feet at 3 attempts to the boat. Finally we landed him thanks to his wearing himself out after swimming around the anchor line a few times, we realized what a trophy we had...he even came with other lures still in his mouth...an old wedding ring and a spinner. Highly recommend our recipe later that night too: Grilled on a cedar plank stuffed with lemon, butter, and some cajun seasoning- DELISH! Thanks Mark for taking your girlfriend out on the boat and having a wonderful day!
