Headed to The Fort Lewis fishing dock on American Lake early this morning. Spent three hours Lake catching nothing. Then, in 45 minutes, starting at 10 a.m., had a monster trout break my line, caught a nice 12-incher, caught an even niver 14-incher, then had a five-minute fight to net a 20-inch beauty. All on a Thursday morning - Man I love being retired. I fished yellow Power Bait 3 to 4 feet off the bottom. I headed out early because solinar (sp?) tables indicated exceptional potential between 7 and 8 a.m. The fish started biting at 10, when the sun burned through the fog and clouds and the day started looking nice. Guess I should look out the window, rather than trying to be scientific.
