A recent surgery has the Drumdog on the DL (that's the disabled list for you non sports fans) at the golf course, so I talked him in to dusting off his fishing rods and going after some pike with me today at Coeurdalene Lake.
Lets just say he was a little rusty from all the time off from fishing while he has been indulging his desire to play golf.
The pike were a little shy today. We managed 5 pike and 2 largemouth bass on the day. To protect the innocent, I won't mention who caught how many, and of what species. All the pike we got were on the small side. Around 24". One of us did manage to tie into a 5lb 2oz large mouth bass though. I won't say who caught it. I'll let the photo do the talking. The weather cooperated for us but the fish were only so-so. I did get a follow from a couple of beauties but they were just lookers. Looks like it's time to start thinking about next spring. That's a shame. I know a fellow washington laker that had a stellar day on the same lake just 2 days ago. Guess it wasn't my day today.
