Lake Chelan was good to us again! So was the weather considering we were supposed to get about a foot of snow between Wed and Thursday. We were on the water around 8:30 and started off with a bang! While letting out the very first downrigger line a nice bright Rainbow crushed our Hi-Fly right on the surface about 50 ft behind the boat!! Great way to start a fishing trip! We spent the rest of the day trolling the lower basin of the Lake. Found fish off Mack Bar, on Minneapolis Beach, and in the Trench in depths between 160 and 240 feet. The bait of choice today was again the Ace Hi-Fly and Smile Blade combo. Our trolling speed varied between 1.2 and 1.4 mph and we kept our presentations right off the bottom. We had a LOT of short strikes again today and lost a few fish on the way to the boat, but thats just fishing! All in all it was great day with great company!
