This report is for 22 and 24 December:

22nd: A cold and rainy day on long lake. We launched in Glenn's boat , (Glenn, Mike and myself), at about 0800 and headed to our spot. It rained most of the morning with the air temp around 34 and the water temp 41. Drop shotting was once again the way to go. Our total for the morning was 20 perch and 17 crappies. The fish were holding a little deeper, from 48'-58'. Black and chartreuse was the best color. The first picture is a five gallon bucket full of fish.

24th: We had 4-6" of snow up here on the west plains so I was expecting a call from Glenn canceling the days adventure. No call so I drove on treacherous roads to his house. Luckily he lives about ten minutes from long lake and it is at a lower altitude, so they only had about an inch of snow. We were fishing with another buddy, Ron, and using his boat. The ramp at suncrest was just slushy so we launched and headed to our honey hole with the lake looking like glass. The bite was pretty good for Glenn and Ron. Somehow I got some kind of stink on me on Friday morning and it continued today. Those two were catching perch and crappie all around me, bas#$%s, but eventually I did catch a few as well. Our tally was 40 perch and 26 crappies.the perch were 8-10" and the crappie 9-11". The same techniques as on Saturday although the crappie are starting to suspend about 4-10' off the bottom. Air temp 34 and water temp 40. All in all an excellent way to spend a winter day, fishing with good friends and enjoying nature. The second picture is from today.
