I came home from work and decided since it was such a gorgeous PNW day, that I might as well get out and try a little winter bass action. I live in Ballard and a trip to any river would take an hour+ so I decided to try the Ship Canal for some smallies since I've heard of people catching them before. Worked the QA side of the canal by Seattle Pacific. My buddy fished a Texas Rigged 4" green worm and I tried the same plastic only setup with a drop shot. It was my first time using this technique and I think I'll need a little practice. Fished for about 1.5 hours without a single hit. It was cold and I assume the water was colder, so if there were any fish in the area...they weren't moving very quick. Is this area even worth targeting this time of year? Last time I saw I report for Lake Union was back in November.
