Did a little fishin this morning. I am sure most of you have read my reports which is why I am just going to say I used the same setup I have the whole month of January. Sorry there wont be a picture today because the 4 trout I caught and the 4 trout my friend caught look like all the other trout that have been caught this month on American. From 9 AM to !! AM my friend and I got 8 to the dock (he got 4 and I got 4) I tried everything to get number 5 but it just was not happening so I decided to call it a day. My friend stayed so he probably went home with a limit.
I got my first 2 within about 5 minutes of each other and then long pause with nothing. Then both my rods go down at the same time luckily my brother in law (1SG's son) came down to the dock to say hi and was able to reel one of them in. (yes he has a valid lic.) and yes I do have a 2 pole lic. My brother in law was pretty happy that he was on the lake for about 5 seconds and was able to reel a fish in.
The lake was beautiful today! no wind and just a little bit of rain. While my friend and I were standing on the dock a lunker of a trout swam right up to the surface and almost stared at us! we are guessing he was around the 20 inch range and really wide. If you will remember from a couple posts ago I also had this happen with a very large Koke. I dont know why this keeps happening to me but it is kinda cool seeing these large fish swimming with no line attached to them, also makes me dream about the big ones that are down there.
A side note my friend was using power bait not power eggs like me but pretty much same colors.
Another great day on American Lake!
