I did not think it is fair if I only report the good days (which have been quit a few lately) So here is a so so report. I was not going to fish today but then a friend came down and wanted to fish so I figured I would fish for an hour or 2. We each caught 4 small ones. These fish are unusually small they were all around 8 inches.
Starting about a week ago I started catching these little guys and they are very easy to catch but who wants a 8 inch trout! I have a theory that the nets pens at JBLM might have a hole in them or something because for weeks I was catching 13-16 inch trout and now I catch usually 2 good size ones and 4 little ones and then technically I am done. From what I understand of the rules even if you release all 5 and you are using scent or bait after 5 catch and releases you are done.
So anyways I used all the same stuff that I have been using in the last reports except for I picked up herring scent yesterday and gave it a try. Normally I would be using garlic. today my friend was using garlic and I was using herring and we both caught 4 so I cant really say one worked better then the other. I think my scent collection is getting to be a little much.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have a better report I am taking my son fishing since he does not have school tomorrow. He does not like to go out in the boat (or I would try for Kokanee) so we will be fishing off the dock.

It might be good for others to weigh in here too. It was my understanding that after a total of 5 caught, when using bait, and you're done, so "... 2 good sized ones and 4 little ones ...", is one over. (This REALLY makes those little ones a pain, doesn't it!?) But I've been wrong before!

DavidA that 4 was a typing error and should say 3. It is pretty obvious I say twice that the limit is 5. so when I said 2 bigger ones it should say and 3 littler ones.

Sounds like the Boss is busting your chops mike. One of the guys got a nice one up to the dock during lunch today. Beautiful day!

Thats great that the guys are getting outside and enjoying themselves over there! How big was it?
You are right it is a BEAUTIFUL day on American Lake! I was on the dock for a little while today but not long. talked about kokanee for a while with a couple guys and now am spending the rest of the day with my kiddos.
