Hiked down to hidden lake after class to try and catch the king of the lake, a pretty big cutthroat that iv'e seen that hangs out near the creek. When I got down to the shore I noticed that his usual spot is no longer there as it is filled up with sand/silt from the creek. I started casting a silver castmaster and on about my 5th cast I reeled in a 7-8" cutt. He somehow managed to get the hook kind of in his eye but swam away fine. Very next cast in the same spot I got another cutt, a bit bigger at close to 11".
After that it went dead for a while so I switched up to some spinners with no luck. after about an hour I switched back to the silver castmaster, old faithful, and after a few casts I got another 10" cutt. --All fish Released--
My phone camera doesn't do justice as to how beautiful these fish are. Its a great quiet little lake to do some C and R and would probably be great for fly fishing too. Although, it is a dog park and sometimes dogs will jump in the lake and scare the fish.
