Fished the 65th street dock from 10-12. 2 people thwere when my cousin and I showed up, no fish at all. game warden came and talked to us for a minute and still nothing. I was using a triple teaser and gold cast master switch off , on one rod, and the other power eggs, and power bait. My cousin never catches fish, and for the first time gets a nice 9 inch rainbow. I caught nothing, but a nice guy with his kids caught onwe and gave it to us. Left with 2 fish overall. I had 5 bites though and one ht on the cast master. As I reeled in my pink power eggs from a nibble I was reeling in slowly when a huge school of trout followed it up from the dock, It was really neat to see that. Does anyone know any good lures, for trout for green lake, and does anyone know when they will be stocking it again?

I was not at the lake myself today. it seemed a bit wind for throwing Kastmasters. but keep in mind these freshly stocked fish have been getting fed fish food nugets probly made by purina for a wile at the hatchry and I think it may take a little time for them to get used to natrule food and bait.maybe try swithching baits.I was at a lake inAZ and could see trhe fish that were planted, they would not touch power bait but white marsh melows n crawlers produced quick limit.

Thanks guys, The Kastmaster part was a little hard with the win, but i managed to do it, i used a bigger plit shopt about 24 inches above it. It seemed the power eggs worked better than the power bait. Anybody know what color rooster tails, or kastmasters to use

Some times, for one reason or another, trout gey really hard to catch. When that happens, the first thing to do is to change your leader for a 4# fluorcarbon... they can be really line shy. You just have to be careful when fighting the fish not to break the leader. Then also, the sinker has to slide in the main line, and you need to leave some slack (2 to 3 feet), as some times the fish will spit it out if they fill any weight when biting.

As for bait, by order of preference (my personal opinion):
1) Power bait with garlic smell (original or rainbow color).
2) Power bait with salmon egg scent (peach or rainbow color)
3) White or yellow power egg dipped in anise oil for scent.
Some lakes one work better than the other, but there will always be at least one that work for any particular lake. Than if you find that power bait is working (whatever smell) in a particular lake/day, sometimes I add a yellow or white power egg (if garlic smell) or pink (if salmon egg smell) at the curve of the hook covering the top of the hook (size 8) and about 1/2 inch of the line with power bait... some times this improves the catch rate because it gives the trout a second target if they steal the power bait, but the power bait smell attracts them initially.
