A friend ended up starting out earlier and left catching (and releasing) nearly a dozen nice sized rainbows. He was using the go-to gear all winter, trolling a Rapala. His battery was starting to fade around fish 10 for him and 1 for me. After catching a 2nd, trolling a Rapala as well, the bite dropped off and so I tried the #2 option this winter and trolled a Wooly Bugger. Bang, bang, bang! Three fish on and I was done. All were a nice size, in both length and girth. Hitting your 2 max @ 14+ inches was an earlier concern than hitting the limit. This continues to be my favorite lake.

As always, if you can haul out one more piece of trash than you brought, this will continue to be a place you want to get to!

I haven't fished Leland in a few years, learned a few things since then. Would be nice to go up and catch some trout and some perch
