Been a while since I've been able to get out to fish... got off work early, so called friend Pete to see if he wanted to get out. Met at Lake B. at about 2:30 and headed to the pier. One other fisherman there, several on the shoreline. Temp was 58 degrees, and the water temp was 54 at 10', so the water is just about prime for trout. A beautiful, sunny day with a persistent breeze from the north. Fishing with Power Eggs (hatchery nuggets) on one rig, Kastmaster on the other. Pete had a couple light hits, I landed a 10" Rainbow on PE about 4:30... lightly hooked, so C&R. By 5:00 there were 13 fisherpersons on the pier... spoons, spinners, flies, Power Bait with 1oz weights were zinging all over the place... ears and extremities were in dire jeopardy... neophytes were casting at a 90 degree angle (how do they do that?)... tempers were flaring, so discretion being the better part of valor, we left hastily! Saw about 1/2 dozen stockers caught during the afternoon, on a wide assortment of terminal tackle. Going to be an interesting Spring!!! PTL!
