Went out to dusty lake today. The fishing was good all day for us. Had a lot of decent sized fish. 14-16 inch range, with a lot of fight. We were fly fishing out of the float tubes and also a little bit from shore, using red ice cream cones. Lots of dark fish and chromed fish in the lake. We mainly fished the south end of the lake, there were a bunch of guys in tubes and pontoons on the north end, it looked like they were having good luck as well. The wind on dusty really picked up around 1 o'clock today. Using a 3wt isnt very easy in the wind...

We also hiked up to cliff lake which is just south of dusty in the cliffs. I went 3 for 5 up there with a spinner and missed one on an egg sucking leach pattern in about an hour, my dad nailed one on a chironomid up there too.. The rainbows in there were not big 14-16 but they fought like they were 20+ inches. It was incredible. Much more exciting fishing than on dusty.
