The only reason I rated this a 2 is because we live is such a wonderful state where you can work all day then be able to go out and spend a beautiful evening on a lake and maybe catch a fish or two!
Got to the launch around 5pm and decided to head over to the marina cove for a different troll this time. There was a slight breeze blowing but not bad and went with the same setup as last time. Not sure why I chose that route but it didn't pay off as I worked my way all the way over VA hospital and then to the float plane launch without even a bump!
Ran into another guy fishing out there who had the pretty much the same results when he gets a hit! But it was a long line release. So I trolled all the way to the north end of the lake and the weather got real nice with no wind so started to make my way back to the boat launch when my one rods buries into the water and it is fish on!! Definitely a chunky fish as it's pulling line and finally get it in the boat and a nice 16+" rainbow. Pick up a smaller one right in front of Bill's boathouse so at least didn't get skunked.
Met fellow WA laker Nangusdog back at the launch with his kayak who also got a 16"er but what a cool way to fish!! Gotta get me one of those!
Think I might make it out tomorrow morning before the weather makes a turn for the worse or might give Lake WA one more shot. Couldn't resist taking a picture of my freshly cured herring just in case I do make to the Big Lake tomorrow!
