The weather kicked off the derby in Idahoan fashion, 45mph gusts with sideways rain and snow/hail and made for some interesting fishing. We camped at Mowry state park boat in site and made it out on the water by 5am each day. 6 fish weighed in Sat, 2 on Sunday and a mere 10lb took first place out of 160 some fisherman. We boated several small salmon but none over 26". The salmon are chasing bait in the 30's and up. VK bait holders, herring/sardine off boards with 1/2 ounce banana wieght and DR's at 30ft worked well for us. If you wish to put your salmon skills to the test, this would be the place. G'luck
