With the weather Sunday looking to be only marginally better than the forcast for Saturday, 3 of us went out Sunday, in 2 boats. Since I was in an inflatable and arrived 15 minutes later, my friends got an extra 30-45 minutes extra fishing in, but we all did really well. I landed & kept 3 nice fat rainbows, and my friends got more than a dozen between them, all but 5 being released. As has been the case for us this winter, trolling a rapala has worked amazingly! Now the water's warming up, for some reason, 'flash' only seems to hurt, and so colorado or willow leaf spoons are forfitted. Also, the smaller sizes (5) seem best. A small split shot and a Gulp maggot or nibble on the hook, also seem to provide a specific target. One thing I have done with all my Rapalas I've used this way is replace all treble hooks with a single trailing #6 hook.

The weather finally hit, and hit hard, forcing me off a bit early. By the time I made it back to the dock, the boat and I were covered with a nice layer of hail. Still a very nice fishing day on a beautiful lake.
