I camped at Potholes State Park for the weekend and brought my kayak along. Due to excessive winds which are common at the lake I stayed close to the park. There seemed to be a bass tournament going on and a lot of boats were inside Frenchman Hills Creek.
My fishing was a variety of techniques including baited worm and Gulp! egg off the bottom with an egg sinker, a jig with a Gulp! minnow swimbait thingy, bobber and worm, and a few different crankbaits.
During the course of the weekend I managed to catch trout, walleye, catfish, small mouth bass, and carp. Unfortunately the boaters often would wake me while I was anchored and clearly visible. Hopefully they can be more thoughtful in the future.
A good time was had.
