Hit American Lake in my Kayak after work last night trolling pink pattern wedding rings tipped with "anise flavored" corn along the Eastern shore from Mike's up to the Country Club. Had one rod on a downrigger at 25' and flatlined another with 3/4 oz weight and 30 pulls back...both were getting consistent hits. In fact, I had to go to a single rod due to multiple doubles. Lost several fish before hitting my limit and heading back in...paused to take a picture of a beautiful sunset.

Very nice, debating on whether I want to hit up the Westport jetty or American Lake Saturday...

Hey Nangusdog, great job! I should be out there late Wednesday afternoon for the evening bite and maybe Friday early depending on work! I hit Lake WA to work on my big motor and it runs like a champ so I am back in the game! Hope to see you out there soon.

Glad to hear that Barry...I should be out there too on this evening but plan to fish for some perch...I was marking big schools of what must have been yellow perch off picnic point the other day but wasn't setup to fish them.

Picnic point is a great place for perch! I have not seen any come out of the lake this year, it seems everything is starting off a little slow. What kinda temp did your fish finder say? I am still getting a reading of only 50. I must also comment that kayak is set up amazing! Good job on the limit.

I think you"re right Mike, it's still a bit cold for the perch to be active...I saw fish schooling off the point in about 25 ft of water but could not entice a bite. Surface temp was 52 by my fishfinder but I'm sure that's due to the recent sunshine and likely much colder a few feet down
