Thanks to Scott Wilson and his gang as well as Nancy Hickey and her buddy for fishing with us. We are pounding deep water for nice numbers of Lakers. Mack's Lures Cha Cha Squidder in glow baited with a hunk of Northern Pikeminnow has been very productive for us. Speeds of 1.5 to 1.7 mph have triggered the bite. As always, staying tight to the bottom is the way to get them to bite. Silver Horde's Kingfisher Lite spoons also racked up some fish. Most our biters were found in water from 260 to 315 feet deep. It was an absolute Chamber of Commerce morning to fish on Lake Chelan! Just another day in paradise...

Rainbow trout are not native to Lake Chelan. We rarely fish for rainbows. When we catch them, they usually are fall planted triploids. WDFW has been putting in 50,000 pound and a half fish in the fall. There is still a small self propagating population centered around the uplake tributaries that are descendants of the stocking that went on in Lake Chelan from about 1910 to 2005.
