Water temps is rising. When I got on the water this morning, it showed 54 degrees. Water is still high. I saw several docks still submerged.
I decided to try bass fishing. I hit 2 points with lipless lures and jerkbaits. One of the points has some laydown. I got a strike on a lipless lure there. After a sec or 2, it popped off. I'm thinking it might has been a bass..lol.
Anyways, I continue on looking around a bit. I found a big school of what looked like big squawfish. ~18" in length and hugging the bottom in about 10' of water. Saw several large carp near the top in about 20' of water.
1 hr of bassing and that's it. So I started trolling for trout.
Got 1 within 10 mins. I'm not positive it's a cutt though since I didn't see any red slashes. But it was 15" and very skinny. On the take down, I thought I had a tiny fish on or perch. Then as I got it halfway to the boat, it finally started tugging a bit and then jumped a couple of times.
After that, 3 hrs of nothing except for 1 small takedown.
At one point, I was surrounded by fish jumping, but they wouldn't bite my offerings. Too bad I didn't bring my trout rod or I would have been casting at them.
When I left the water at about noon, water temp was at about 57.
