Went out on the lake today, just sitting on the dock watching the sun set and I saw quite a bit of fish jumping up on the water just waiting to be caught. Then suddenly I felt the monstrous tug of a beastly largemouth bass. Was a good 13" but I let the lil guy go but oh my what a great fishing evening!

Yep, northern pike minnow, very common in lake washington now. The EPA (and your nose) say not to eat them, but they eat salmon and trout eggs, so feel free to catch them and bury them in a yard or toss them in the garbage.

Unfortunately that isn't a bass. But I can show you some monster smallmouth if you ever want to fish sometime!

That's not a pike minnow. That's a peamouth. I can tell because of how tiny the mouth is. They look very similar.

Yep, that would be a peamouth chub. Small mouth and have horizontal lines that include a bit of red. They are running thick up Kelsey Creek right now. Check out this link: http://www.ci.bellevue.wa.us/peamouth.htm
