Had a chance to do some uplake work on the 3rd. Then Lynn Smith was willing to let us get the kids some kokanee on the morning of the 4th. We found fish just downlake of Painted Rocks on the 3rd. The Chinook was what we were hoping to find. Baited squid rigs caught the Chinook and lakers. Kokanee bit Mack's mini cha cha's in orange baited with Pautzke's fire corn. A real bonus was a 19" triploid rainbow caught in Mill Bay on Pautzke's Fire Bait in Mallow Balls O Fire. Look all over for the Kokanee. They are not all necessarily where all the boats are gathered... You're going to find them all through the water column now. In the past few days we have gotten them from the surface down to over 200 feet deep! Fifty to One Hundred is still the most common range to find them, but don't be afraid to look all over. It has been a great couple of days to be out fishing with this lovely warming trend.
