First time on the lake for the season. Yeah! Except for the near hurricane winds, a good day was had by all.
We started at 11am and fished till 5pm. Air temps about 65 degrees and mostly sunny. Water temperature ranged from 57.8-60.1 around the lake.
We found the honey-hole where most of the bite came, but we actually had at least one bite in every area we fished. The force was not with me. My old tried and true lures did not produce much action. One lure and one spoon of that group produced bites, but I lost all three fish. Tried a bunch of new lures too without success.
K. boated three cutthroat and rainbows and P. boated four cutthroat. Each lost 1-2 and P. had on the biggest fish which got away. No bass today...likely they are still deep.
The soup lunch warmed us up as we found a cove out of the wind. Had multiple tangled lines among us due to the huge wind drift and waves, but it was great to be on the lake again!
