I met Mike at the lake about 2pm and we soon started catching fish in the 10-11" range using sinking line fairly close to the surface. I switched to a water boatman using floating line and ended up netting about a dozen Rainbows, two that were 16". Mike was using a bead head damsel nymph with sinking line and also did well netting two beautiful 16" Brooks and several Rainbows. All fish were released except for one.
The weather was perfect, 82º with clear skies and a light variable breeze. The surface temperature of the water was at about 65º. The water was clear and there was an active midge hatch coming off the water. A few adult damsels were also flying around.
This is a good start for Fish Lake since they killed it off last fall. The game department is planning on planting a large number of Brook fry later in the year. I am pleased that they decided to go back to stocking this lake with Brooks along with Rainbows. Hopefully the combination of these two fish will keep the sunfish at bay.

I saw you guys yesterday working the west side of the lake, looked like you were doing pretty good. I am new to fly fishing and have a 7 foot rod with floating line. Do you have any fly suggestions for a beginner? I see a lot of people fly fishing and want to get into it. Thanks!

A water boatman works well in that lake. You might try a damselfly nymph also.
