Got my second chance to fish Chelan! I was there 2 weeks ago and caught 9 with the biggest being 18 inches. My goal this time was a 20 incher and a limit........ Lets just say things have slowed a little on the lake.
Talked to lots of locals and the fish counters on the lake and they all say it is very tough right now. The fish counter said he checked evevy boat on the whole 55 miles and the most any boat had was 6 fish!
We ran 3 downriggers with one having a stacker so we had 4 lines in the water at all times.
We only got 3 fish to the boat but kokanee kid and I both caught our personal best. I got a 19 inch caught on a green spin and glow and he got a 18 inch on my homemade setup that I used 2 weeks ago to get my 9. We also picked up a nice 12 incher that anyone would love to catch in any westside lake. Us westsidders are usually happy with a 12 but when its sitting next to a 19 inch it looks small. But very happy to get 3 to the boat and we lost a beautiful one at the back of the boat also
Want to say thanks to eenakok and his dad for inviting me out again, I always have a great time fishing with them.
The fish we got were in mill bay, by the yacht club, and by rocky point.
