Working in retail, I prefer to get away from the public on my days off. My wife and I were blessed today to have only waterfowl and birds as our only company. OOPS...I almost forgot, BUGS!!! Thank goodness, not of the biting variety, but still in a vast quantity. The wind eventually came up and the bug problem became tolerable. A planter of about 11" was the first fish and then fishing got very slow until my pole bent over and the fight was on. After a couple of good runs, a 22" large rainbow was brought to the net. And yes, large fish can be caught on 4 lb. test line with the right rod, reel and lack of snags. The heat, wind and bugs made us give it up early, but still a GREAT DAY!

Hate to ask, but anybody fishing spiny rays? I'm still absolutely flabbergasted that one of the finest spiny ray lakes in the state had been utterly destroyed by the WDFW....
