Got out to the lake at 6am and rented a boat with my cousin. Was hoping we could into some early season catfish (they're yellow bullheads in there) or some crappie. I had fished the opener out here on off the dock and seen some nice crappie between 8 and 12 inches and quite of few cats. We started on the far side by the barn with the blue roof and worked the whole backside weedline with only a couple of hits. So we trolled small crankbaits over towards the next stretch i wanted to work over, and i went 2 for 3 on trout (about 10 inchers during the move). Pounded the next spot for awhile without even a bite. So we trolled our way to another spot i've had some luck and my cousin hit about a 12 rainbow. After working through that area, with the only bite being a 2in bass, we started fishing deeper off the weedlines fished most of the backside again but in about 8 to 12 ft of water before the wind started gusting a bit too much to stay on anchor, so we decided we'd troll for awhile to see if the wind would die down some. Missed a couple of fish while waiting out the wind (which didn't die off til we were tired being in the wind). Decided we'd just fish from the dock for a bit and my cousin caught three big with the the biggest being about 12in and was the biggest fish either of us had caught. We finally called it a day around 4:30 figuring there wasn't much more we could throw at'em today.
Also saw 5 trout caught of the dock all day and nobody hooking up out in the few boats that we saw out there. The water was really soupy looking today and i think the lake is starting to flip over.
