Took my buddy Glenn out to catch crappie on Long lake. We ended up with about 60 crappie 10 perch and 10 smallies. We kept 45 crappie, 5 bass and 3 perch. Most were caught in less than 10' of water under or around docks and trees. We mostly cast 1/64 oz jigs with a curly tail grub. The crappie are almost ready to spawn. the lake temp was 58 degrees and most fish were hanging just below the structure and would hit our tiny jigs as the slowly sank. Most of the time the line would just stop, we wouldn't feel any bite or see a tick of the line. The highlight of the day was a 10-15lb carp I hooked on a crappie jig and on my crappie rod. I did land the fish with help from Glenn, that fish almost straightened out my jig. It should be crayfish food right about now.

Nice batch of slabs Mark. I'm amazed the water is that warm based on the amount going over the Nine Mile dam.
