My 6 year old wanted to go fishing for the first time so we made our way over to the launch. It was about 6:00 PM and it was quite overcast. I didn't expect much since the small launch limits the area you can fish. I cast out first with pink PowerBait on a 4' leader. Got a few nibbles but they managed to take the bait without the hook. I hooked him up with a bobber and about 4' of line to a small hook which we baited with worms he had dug up from the backyard. Got a bit within a couple of minutes and successfully landed his first trout. Managed to get one more with the worm. Both were about 10-12" or so. Not what I would call a good day of fishing but the smile on his face was priceless. He also decided to name the fish Frank and Steve.
