You can catch tons and I mean tons of smallys at Banks this time of year. In fact you can from early spring thru fall. Early spring I took out a few clients and Crankbaits and Rattletraps were the ticket.
50 fish days were common w/ a few going over 3 lbs. I'm not going to give out all my secrets but everyone knows Baby Hot Lips Crawdad color is Hot!
Heck, that crank catches fish all over the state. I believe a key is the color orange. Orange bellys on the crank at Banks is big!
Anyway back to my week of fishing in June on Banks. When its windy use your spinnerbait. Not windy Senkos are good along with baby brush hogs. There are a couple other baits I discovered that the
were a couple other hot baits that the boys don't tend to use this time of year! I caught 3, 3 lbers and a 5 with them. Come fish with me and Ill show you these hot new baits.
As for the walleye fishing IT Was Poor. 4 fish a day average. Which is really strange because I cant remember the last time
I went to Banks in June and didn't rake in the walleye. The norm is a limit in a few hours. I'm not sure what's going on there.
Walleye fishing along with Bass fishing is great in Roosevelt though!!! Those lil 12 inchers we used to catch have grown to 3 lbers or better. And lots of them!
The walleye caught out of there are fat and happy. Oh, I guess I'm the happy 1 after dining on those tasty morsels!
Anyway , Good Luck Fishing Ladies and Guys!! See you on the water or come fish with me.
