Arrived at Cavanaugh about 5:30 am. 3 minutes after launching the first koke was in the boat. My buddy that landed it was asking if he should keep it or let it go I replied "this is a cherry picking lake there will be many more to choose from" and boy was it this day. There was sometimes when you had no time to re-bait the second pole before another fish was on again. The water temp was 57 and the kokes were a lot smaller then lake stevens kokes but all-n-all it was an epic day with around 50 kokes/cutthroats landed, lost or released and three limits togo home with.

We were catching fish 50 pulls flat lining and on the down riggers 17-25 feet down.

I'm sure when you guys got close to your limits you put the bait away and just did catch and release, since we all know that kokanee, like trout, when caught with bait and released, still count toward your limit. Just wanted clarify because I know someone will point it out.

I'm just curious - Do you west side guys drag your fish around the lake on a stringer? I sure see a lot of fish on stringers. They are SO much better when put on ice in the cooler; just a thought.

Good point. Dead Fish should never be left on a stringer in the water. Lake water is way too warm to leave fish in. Bleed your fish right away and then straight into the ice. I hate to see fish hanging in 70 degree lake water. Gee my fish tastes muddy!

UH....huh. Certainly wouldn't leave them on the counter in the 70 degree kitchen all afternoon; would we?
