Went down and mowed my Parents lawn today. Which, put me so close to the Mean Green. That resisting a visit was futile! I had to wet a line. Arrived around 2:00ish, with overcast skies, and dark clouds looming overhead. Stiff breeze coming out of the South. Tossed spoons the 1.5 hours I was there. Brought 3 small trout to the dock, released to get bigger. Had one other fish hit the lure right at the end of the retrieve. But did not hook up. Could see the fish strike at the lure.
Think it was a "FST" in 0 size, and chrome finish that got the most attention today. For some reason, that lure is super finicky to the speed it is pulled through the water.
There was several bank fishermen in the area. As well as one other guy on the dock next to me. Did not see any other catching going on. Does not mean one wasn't drug onto the bank, while distracted reeling in one of my own. I am using a super light, buggy whip rod. Once hooked up, loosen the drag on the reel and let the fish take drag. Kinda funny when they rip 15 ft of line from the reel.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz........zzzz.........zz....z. All fish were cookie cutter 10 inchers. Pretty little guys.
Rowing boats started launching at 3:30. So, I felt that was a good time to bug out. Once the 10ft foot oars are laid out on the dock. There was not much room between the tip of the blade, and the edge of the dock for walking!
