Nice report Ricky - I have fished both of those lakes but never caught anything very big.

Back in the 70's and before Rapjohn had monster bass, but that was also during the time that there was no limit on bass and the words catch and release were seldom heard. Though the fish are mostly on the small side now, being a long ways from a hiway and with no homes on the water, its a peacefully tranquil place to fish. Whitman, on the other hand, can be a real sleeper. My nephew caught and released a 7-7 already this year, and hooked and lost one he said was just as big. Another bass fishing buddy who lives out in that area said he's caught many 3's up to 6 lbers there fishing jig and pigs in early spring. Both sources are very reliable, and I have no doubt their stories are on the up and up. Another lake I'm hearing good reports about is Silver Lake near Eatonville. But it won't be long and the algae bloom will have that lake looking like split pea soup.

I have also fished Silver Lake a few times and caught a few bass but only to about a pound and a half. That was years ago and I think the only public access was through a Resort.

It still is and they still charge, which has always been a contentious issue. Any time a lake is stocked by the game department, there is suppose to be a public access not owned by a private party. The Henly family got around this issue by regularly planting Brown Trout in the lake.
