Started fishing at 6:15 AM. Caught five in first hour - if you include one 6 incher, they must have stocked the lake - 2 in the second hour and only had two hits in the next two hours. Left about 10:30. Didn't see much caught, but the trout were active on the surface. At 7 that evening I discovered that I was missing three rods. I had left them leaning in the grass next to my car at the lake. I raced back up there and son-of-a-gun but they were leaning up against one of the two remaining cars by the far take-out. All I can say is thanks to whoever set them there and a huge thanks for no one taking them (although I would certainly have checked the park office if someone had turned them in). I am one lucky and thankful person. Sure makes you appreciate people when something like this happened. Unfortunately, a friend of mine had his rig broken into at Lenice on 5-28 and they cleaned him out of all his extra gear, wallet, phone, the works.
