Launched the boat around 10:30. Did some casting for bass on the eastern side of the lake near a downed tree. Had a couple of strikes on a Shad-Rap crankbait, but no hookups. Shifted to trout fishing about 100 yds off the boat launch and within 3 minutes had the first fish onboard. From there on out, it was game on. My son and I both limited in about 45 minutes. Nothing huge, but a couple approaching the 2.5 lb mark. When I was one shy of my limit, I decided to flip that Shad-Rap again in the off chance of hooking up with a bass. On my second cast, the pole bent and I was hooked up. Not a bass though. A 16" rainbow.Huh. All in all, a great day.
