nice to get something out of your efforts.. I had a tough go of it today too, going on a 3 day skunk.. well except for the manky perch.. I hammered a small stretch of shoreline / docks i knew had some fish.. but no luck after 3 hours..

Ya, I tried tapps again a few days ago. Caught 1 largemouth on a dock and then nodda! Fishin has been really tough lately :( any help on some deep water structure that usually holds fish would be awesome! Just installed my fish finder.

Right now fishing is tough shallow or deep. From mid June well into July I have never did well. Maybe a half dozen or so. But when August comes it always gets good. 20 to 40 smallies in a morning's fishing is the norm. They stack up in schools on stumps and rocky areas on steep drops and ledges, usually in around 20 to 25 feet of water. I simply drag through them with a drop shot or a Carolina rig or a football head jig. Watermellonseed has always been my favorite color, but during August and September small plastics in white can be good because the smallies are feeding heavily on Crappie fry. Usually the bite will turn before 11:00 or so, but that's when the pleasure crafts get bad anyway. But from 6:00 till then it can be one fish after another. And it remains that way right on through the last day the park is open on Sept 30th.
