so, this is sort of a multi-day report for all of last week and then this Saturday the 15th as well..
I hit Martha lake 4 days out of 7 on the hunt for Bass.. as far as bass goes i got skunked every day.. its been tough, i've been working all the docks, shoreline, and weed beds, i even cruised a bunch of shoreline with my video camera under water, went home, checkout out the video and actually saw a downed tree with a couple bass swimming around, so i went back to that spot and hammered it with crankbaits, dropshot plastics, texas rigged worms and grubs, like everything i had! no fish.. i think i need to find a new lake, maybe further away.. just so nice only driving 20 minutes to the lake.. but i think i'm done with Martha.. :(

I did manage a few trout and a perch over these days.. but i'm not writing back home to grandma about those..
I did snap some pics though.. cuz a report with out pics is just words.. \m/

...and be sure to fish the outside weedline with a crankbait, dropshot, Carolina rig, and a jig from 1/4 oz to 3/4 oz. Early in the morning both shallow and on the outsuide weedline try a jitterbug, Devil's Horse, Pop-R, or even an original sized Spook. And I like the Baby Spook, in clear. My little fish today was off the outside weedline on a crankbait.

thanks for the tips!! i'm on trout patrol this week i think with the boy..however, we did troll the docks today at lake serene, in search of bass after we got 10 trout.. :) he needs to work on his driving me around the docks skills with the troller a little better, we'll get there.. :)

How many docks did he run into?

I remember the first time I ran the electric motor, I just COULDN'T keep the boat going straight. lol That was when the owner was showing me how to run the boat as I was buying it shortly after that, my first Bass Boat. He was my neighbor and had bought a brand new Ranger. Many years ago.

Hi oneshot. Try Storm lake. I've been catching tons of bass out of that lake over the last few weeks. Small ones, but that is attributed to the fact that I'm not an expert. I have caught a few 3/4-1lb'ers in between the dinks. The far west end of the lake where there is a patch of homeless shoreline, all the way to the far end where there is a shallow bay ( caught a 1lb'er there in 3 feet of water ). I'm a simpleton and continue to throw finesse spinners at the shoreline ( as close to shore as I can ). I start that puppy spinning immediately so it will not hit the snags ( I've been hitting the snags, but the rewards are grand ).
