Finally put some plans in to action and headed out to fish with Quadfather yesterday.. we have been chatting for a couple years but never connected until now. another wa.lakes.com hookup success.. :)
We met up at 0-dark 30 and headed out of town to Lake Goodwin.. the weather was pretty iffy with rain on the windshield and in the forcast but we took the chance anyways and kept on trucking. When we got to the lake the gate was still locked and the rain sprinkles were light.. what! so we had to kill some time and wait for the parks guys to show up and let us in.. they opened it 30 minutes early.. sweeet!
this lake is tough! We pounded it pretty good for a couple hours before we found the fish hideout.. once we did we were both able to boat a couple decent sized fish.. nothing to write home to grandma about but worthy of a photo.. We continued on out of this hole after a little bit more and picked up another smaller fish in a different location and then nothing the rest of the day.. we covered about 3/4 of the shoreline and just off shore.. Half the lakes shore is shallow! like so shallow home owners should have signs on their docks saying "no diving or jumping".. it would be shallow for a good 50 yds out in some areas.. 2 to 5 feet at best..
My video recording skills were a bit off yesterday but i think i got enough for something to share soon on the blog.. :)
We caught some fish, we had fun, we laughed and chatted all day.. what fishing is about when fishing with friends, the complete package..
thanks Quadfather! much enjoyable adventure..
