Took my daughter out in the canoe early Sunday morning. We were both trolling little rapalas, and she got a hit within minutes. She reeled it in, and had a 10 1/2 inch rainbow. She was pretty thrilled. We paddled around the lake for over 2 hours, but that was our only fish. I caught a lot of weeds along the way. It was a perfect sunny morning though, so we were both happy enough just being out on the water.
I was happy to put her on a fish, and she was sure to remind me that she had caught a fish, and I hadn't. It gets more enjoyable each time I take her fishing, as her skills are really improving, and I spend less time fixing snags and snarls.
