I go to Logboom nearly every morning to see if I can get one of those big boys on the hook. This morning I
found a big one. Went an easy 15 pounds. I had a time getting him into my net. After a 30 minute fight on 8lb test I managed to land and photograph him before putting him back to get even bigger. Measured just under 30 inches.
Great way to start the day!

Brilliant catch! What time did you get there and how did you rig your line? I've been going there every weekend no luck.

Can you chum for these fish, or bait bag them?

Never tried fishing for them, was back in virginia in 71 and there they were called sewer trout and terd wrestlers. They schooled up every day along side our ship waiting for our sewer to flush.

I usually get there about 5:30 but I usually don't get bit until 6 or later and typically one a day. I use canned corn and today I put a little vanilla in it. I do chum (it's ok in Lake Wash) but not much. Couple of tosses of about 20 kernels. I don't use a weight but I do use a size 1 wide gap bass worm hook. It is a fine wire hook so it penetrates very easily. Last week I was putting only one kernel just past the barb and got a 10 pounder. Today I wasn't getting bit with a single kernel so I put on three and that seemed to work. I just flip it out there about 10 feet max and sometimes right next to the dock. I do move my bait around pretty regularly but I don't change locations. I seem to do best about 2/3 of the way to the end of the dock.
