Castmasters Bass Club had a contest on Lake Sammammish and my Uncle asked if I wanted to fish it and I was in. Got my Dropshot rigs ready to go, packed the select plastics I love on this lake and was stoked to go. Had not been fishing in a few years to busy DJing so this was my first time out in a while. As a former member of Castmasters who was debating on joining up this year, I knew I had to be ready because this club know Sammammish well and good spots are taken usually. Anyway, Uncle and I started banging docks early on the East Side and caught a dink on the first dock. Then picked up something a little larger a couple docks down. We decided to motor over to the West Side and made it over there but the battery died. Uncle did not charge his batteries so we were dead in the water with no power just drifting South. I cast out in between 2 docks to pass the time and caught another decent SMB. We called someone from the club to tow us in. Kind of disappointing because we had a good pattern picked out and were doing OK but fishing became secondary to safety. Oh well. Better luck next time.
