Cloudy morning and not feeling well, so I stayed pretty close to the launch in case I had to head back in quickly. Started fishing not too far on the right side of the launch. Finding mainly under and around the docks thinking the bass will be roaming around with the cloud cover. I spotted a couple ~10" holding to the pilings.
After about an hr, I decided to attempt to head a little bit farther out. I stuck to the east side of the lake today. I went up maybe a 1/4 or at most a 1/3 of the way upwards at best.
Caught my 1st bass, ~15" SMB on a dropshot on the back side of a dock in about ~8' of water.
Then caught a smaller one, ~13" about 2 docks away out in deeper water on a Hula.
Next was a ~11" SMB on the dropshot. Was also caught out in deeper water, ~14' or so out in front of a dock.
After skipping a senko for most of the morning under the docks without a bass, I switched it up to a shakeyhead. Caught myself my 1st bass on the shakeyhead, but it was almost the same size as the worm, lol @ ~7" SMB.
Then caught 2 more dinks on the Hula.
So 6 bass in 4 hrs. Just no size to them today.
Tried using a top water Sammy for about 30 mins to see if I could get a strike, but nada.
The conditions on the water was calm. No breeze. Muggy and sticky.
