Decided to head out to Island and enjoy this beautiful weather after work. We started fishing our usual pattern and I caught a small LMB with my green pumpkin GrandeBass Rattlesnake worm. The wind started to really pick up so I had to keep maneuvering us. We moved to the opposite end of the lake and my gf caught a nice bass near some pads. My gf got a lot of hits on her Lunkerhunt Lunker Frog in green tea color. That frog just won the best new soft bait at ICAST 2013 and I can see why. It started getting dark so we hit some more pads and I caught a nice bass with a 5" green pumpkin YUM dinger. A few casts later my gf landed this HUGE LMB. It gave her a GREAT fight. I scrambled to get the net and scooped it up. It had some good weight to it when I lifted it up. My guess would be 20" and about 5lbs or more. We didn't catch a lot of fish but the ones we did were nice. As always we took a pic and released all fish.

Very nice Eddie! I used to fish that lake quite a bit before the park was put in. I used the street end access on the other side of the lake.

Nice fish for your better half. A little more belly and that fish would have been huge!

Thanks Bob for the comment. Ricky it was a really nice fish. It is the biggest fish so far this year. I've seen some bigger at some other lakes I fished this summer but couldn't get them to bite.
