After hearing stories of big bass being caught from two very reputable sources, I decided to make the long drive from Federal Way to Whitman Lake. I fished all the way around the lake and had one bite which resulted in a 3 1/2 lber. That was it. But it was rather nostalgic getting on the water. Having been raised in Kapowsin, as a kid I used to fish all the lakes in that area, including Whitman. I remember when a guy named Zimmerman owned the cabin an all the land around the one Twin Lakes nearest the road to Whitman. At the time he owned all the either Pay Less or Pay-'N-Save stores. Can't remember which. Anyway, he would let us kids fish the lake from shore. But no adults. Anyway, was fun to go back there, if for any reason reliving my childhood.
