Set the DVR to record the Hawks and took my boy to Kapowsin for some fall bass fishing. Threw soft plastics without a bite. Switched to spinner bait and finally got one, but only a 10inch dink. We trolled spoons and spinners tipped with worm between bass fishing spots and managed to bring home 2 nice trout for the frying pan and caught one more very small bass. Just when you think you know how bass behave you catch one trolling shallow over 20+ feet of water. Not a lot of action for 5 hrs on the water... But a nice day spent with my son.

I catch them on trout gear trolling pretty regularly in Crescent over by Gig Harbor. Looks like nice weather out there.

Being raised a mile from the lake during a time when Kapowsin was a country, family friendly town, and when I probably bass fished it more than any other lake, I still find Kapowsin Lake frustrating. I have had a sprinkling of memorable days on that lake, but far more that were ho-hum. Adding to that, it scares the bejeesus out of me to leave my truck in the parking lot, with the launch down below and the parking lot above and out of sight. Adding to that, they call it the town of Kapowsin which is near by, but in the last few years is has, in my estimation, become the town of Deliverance; a bunch of people that look as if they are all off-springs of first cousins with their income being welfare and whatever they find in your vehicle. Sorry, after two break-ins that netted nothing but a broken window and nothing in my vehicle to steal, I will never fish that lake again. And that is sad, because, good fishing or bad, that is the lake I fished as a child.
