Dave Graybill had mentioned Lake Chelan and potential for good rainbow fishing this week, so i felt it was finally time to get this lake off my to do list, and give it a shot. started targeting trout around 1030 trolling gold blades trailed by homemade custom wedding ring tipped with nightcrawler. i meandered around exploring a large bay fishing 20-25 fow, caught 1 nice rainbow 21 1/2" i guess 5# after about an hour. I kept working at it digging around, exploring the lake, ended going back through the area i caught the 1st fish about 2 or so hours later, and hooked up with another at 18 1/2" around 3 1/2#(?) a little ways down from where i caught the first fish. I spotted other large fish swimming around, they seemed very spooky, the water is fairly clear, so i am sure that has something to do with it. I did have to work for these fish, but learned a lot for myself about this lake that i hope to bring back another day. These fish were great fighters, the meat from the larger fish was extra beatiful, and their size made for an overall good day on the water.
