Where has the summer gone? Imagine this might have been the next to the last time on the lake before it closes.
They're calling it Fogtober and indeed it has been. The lake was foggy all day, but oddly a fairly substantial wind.
Fished 12-4:30pm. About 50 degrees, water temp 52.2 and the only ones on the lake! Very cool. No other fishermen, boaters, kayakers, etc. Tucked in behind the rental shed to eat a soup lunch and warm up a wee bit. What a glorious day.
Trolled today with crankbaits. Not too bad - boated ten fish in all and even scared up two bass! K. boated two trout, P. boated 3 trout and 2 bass (one really nice one) and I boated three trout (the first, the last and the largest.) Pretty weird....used ten different lures and only one caught all three of my fish, and P. used the same lure the entire day and caught all 5 on it. K. experimented with 9 lures.
Hope to get back one more time before closure. Man should not have to work - only fish.
