I had to go camping with my daughter's class and found out there is a lake there. I did my research and it is catch and release only. I don't mind that so I threw in the luggage the fishing rod and some spinners.

The lake is beautiful with a clarity that I haven't seen before in any lake. It is also very deep but I was to fish from the shore. I finally got away from kids for couple of hours and fished from a dock between 9 and 11. The air was chilly but sunny and getting warm.

One camp instructor told me he never saw anybody catch a fish off that dock so I was prepared to prove him wrong.

I started using a wedding ring spinner and fan-casting around the dock. It didn't take long to hook into one, nice fight but came unhooked when it jumped. Since the water was so clear I could see them following the spinner several times but could not get them to bite. I got one more bite but that didn't stick.

I should have changed the presentation, maybe a bit on the lighter side with the water so clear but I didn't have extra tackle with me.

I did not break the spell off that dock but there are fish there willing to bite and the place is as nice as it gets and it was very enjoyable.
